ABSTRACT
In this paper we investigate nano-particle synthesis by irradiation of 25 nm tin films deposited on quartz substrate, with 45 MeV Li3+ ions and 100 O7+ ions. Ion fluences in the range 1×1011 to 1×1013 ions/cm2 are used. Morphological changes driven ion include substantial surface roughness, narrowing majority particle size from several hundred tens is observed. The characterized AFM, XRD RBS, which provide information about topography, crystallinity composition respectively, resulting irradiation. system, sputtering found be dominant mechanisms driving structural change, (despite use swift heavy energy range, where electronic loss significant) have quantified extent material loss. consequences nuclear values upon two different beams also discussed.
