ABSTRACT
The light reflected from a glossy surface depends on the reflectance properties of that as well flow in scene, field. We asked four observers to compare glossiness pairs surfaces under two different real-word fields, and used this data estimate transfer function captures how perceived is remapped changing one real-world field second. wished determine form test whether for any set three fields 1 2 3 could be predict 3. Observers' estimated functions sets were best described by linear model. exhibited expected transitivity pattern out observers. failure observer, while significant, was less than 12.5% gloss range.
