ABSTRACT
Both the dexamethasone suppression test (DST) and thyrotropin-releasing hormone (TRH) stimulation have been reported to be useful in subtyping some depression diagnoses. Whether DST discriminates delusional from nondelusional remains controversial, but this possibility has not studied for TRH test. The authors evaluated results 29 depressed hospitalized patients; both tests significantly discriminated patients with nonendogenous those endogenous depression.
