ABSTRACT
Objective: This study compared two vocational programs: the About Face Vocational Program (AFVP), a traditional group-based program created for formerly incarcerated veterans, and hybrid combining AFVP with principles of individual placement support–supported employment. Methods: The evaluated 111 veterans at least one felony conviction who had mental illness, substance use disorder, or both. Veterans were randomly assigned to either condition. Results: in condition, alone, more likely find employment, higher rates full-time earned significantly money over course study. A comparison only participants found employment showed condition but similarities between groups other measures success.
