Coercive Sexual Experiences that Include Orgasm Predict Negative Psychological, Relationship, and Sexual Outcomes

ABSTRACT
Psychological sexual coercion is known to negatively impact those who experience it, yet encounters where orgasm present are often presumed be positive and absent of coercion. In the study, we conducted an online survey with women ( n = 179) men 251) test associations between sexually coercive experiences that include negative psychological, sexual, relationship outcomes. To do so, focused on three experiences: having during coerced sex (CS), a desired (CO), (COS). Using structural equation modeling, found ever any these coercion-plus-orgasm current partner predicted significantly higher avoidance motivations (i.e., engaging in avoid conflict one’s partner), which turn worse psychological distress, satisfaction, functioning (but not dyadic desire).
