Organized persuasive communication is essential to the exercise of power at national and global levels. It has been studied extensively by scholars public relations, promotional culture propaganda. There exists, however, considerable confusion conceptual limitations across these fields: PR largely focus on what they perceive be non-manipulative forms organized communication; propaganda manipulative but tend either examine historical cases or non-democratic states; ‘salesmanship’ in life. All approaches show minimal development concerning involving deception, incentivization coercion. As a consequence, manipulative, propagandistic within liberal democracies blind spot; it rarely recognized let alone researched with result that our understanding grasp activities stunted. To overcome limitations, we propose new framework theorizes precisely persuasion, as well demarcating might count consensual persuasion. This advances scholarship clarifying providing starting point for more fully evaluating role coercion, contemporary democracies.
