ABSTRACT
Severe short-pitch rail corrugation was found to have occurred on four types of track the same metro line. Field investigations that, even with operation conditions, corrugations had different wavelengths for track. Impact hammer tap tests were conducted investigate dynamic behaviour tracks. The test results showed in investigated metro, are associated resonance also that tracks not caused by torsional vibration due wheelsets. Numerical simulations identify is could be observed impact limitations method. Three-dimensional finite element models established and they used study characteristics frequencies modes related generation clearly identified numerical modelling studies; this further verifies relationship between formation effect a low value fastener stiffness dissipation wheel/rail energy help simulations.
