ABSTRACT
Background Antibodies to M-type phospholipase A2 receptor (a-PLA 2 R) have been identified in most patients with idiopathic membranous nephropathy, but the prevalence lupus nephritis (MLN) is still unclear. The objective of this study was assess a-PLA R antibodies a large cohort nephritis. Methods were measured by ELISA serum from systemic erythematosus ( n = 190), whom 37 had biopsy-proven MLN. Positive samples confirmed commercial kit, Western blot and immunohistochemistry renal tissue. Results A total 10 190 (5.3%) circulating in-house assay. detected 7 MLN (18.9%) 3 non-renal disease (3.2%). PLA staining kidney biopsy 5 (71.4%) levels associated active not proteinuria levels. Presence at baseline worse remission rates longer time compared those serologically negative. Conclusions can be low patients, their detection prognosis.
