ABSTRACT
The use of Mohr circles into magnetotelluric (MT) intepretation was introduced by Lilley (Lilley, 1976). By plotting Zxx-rotated versus Zxy-rotated (real and imaginary parts) important information on the conductivity structure is obtained. In this paper are employed to reveal directions polarisation electric field. Furthermore, following procedure for circle analysis suggested: Zxx -rotated Zyx-rotated (instead Zxy-rotated) principal axes system i.e., strike angle, regional 2D can be resolved in some cases. latter implemented MT data from Ioannina area, NW Greece. Results other techniques applied same dataset, such as decomposition methods, tipper induction arrows analysis, provide support validity conclusions reached.
