ABSTRACT
Recent studies of active Californian faults allow us to investigate the mechanisms fluid flow and crack sealing along model pressure evolution during earthquake cycles. The is first based on observation that fluids from depth (stables isotopes traces elements analyses). also study deformation rocks near within at depth. Sampling was performed in have been recently uplifted. Studies thin sections produce evidence compaction fractured zones as transient processes after each earthquake. We found solution creep are likely control permeability change inter-seismic period. Crack modeled give kinetics these processes. Then numerical modeling transfer around by integrating slow changes sealing, gouge This shows location overpressure varies period depending heterogeneity (nature minerals fluids, spacing between micro-fractures, thermodynamic parameters).
