ABSTRACT
The objective of this study was to compare the number rolling and adhered leukocytes in patients with severe sepsis/septic shock non-infected controls. Microcirculatory flow alterations endothelial cell dysfunction are elements sepsis pathophysiology. Traditionally, microcirculatory emphasis has been on red blood vessel perfusion. However, assessment interactions between white cells may be another early diagnostic modality.
