ABSTRACT
Abstract Background MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are short (20–24 nt) non-coding RNAs that involved in post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression multicellular organisms by affecting both the stability and translation mRNAs. One miRNAs has been shown to play a role various pathologies like cancer, neurological disorders cardiovascular diseases is miRNA-26b. However, these studies only demonstrated rather ambiguous associations without revealing causal relationship. Therefore, aim this study establish validate mouse model which enables elucidation exact miRNA-26b pathologies. Results A miRNA-26b-deficient was established using homologous recombination validated PCR. mice did not show any physiological abnormalities no effects on systemic lipid levels, blood parameters or tissue leukocytes. Using next generation sequencing, patterns were analyzed compared wild type controls. This supported already suggested cancer processes, but also revealed novel with thermogenesis allergic reactions. In addition, detailed analysis identified several genes seem be highly regulated miRNA-26b, linked same pathological conditions, further confirming providing strong validation our model. Conclusions plays an important pathologies, although relationships still have established. The described deficiency crucial first step towards identification could identify as promising diagnostic even therapeutic target broad range
