ABSTRACT
Abstract Background GGPP (geranylgeranyl diphosphate) is produced in the isoprenoid pathway and mediates function of various plant metabolites, which synthesized by GGPPS (GGPP synthases) plants. characterization has not been performed any species except Arabidopsis thaliana . Here, we a complete computational bioinformatics analysis detected their transcription expression pattern Gossypium hirsutum for first time so that to explore evolutionary relationship potential functions. Finally, unravelled relationship, conserved sequence logos, gene duplication involvement development abiotic stresses tolerance genes G. other species. Results A total 159 from 18 were identified divided these into five groups indicate divergence common ancestor. Further, family during evolution underwent segmental duplication. The 25 GhGGPPS showed diverse particularly ovule fiber indicating vital divers roles development. Additionally, exhibited wide range responses when subjected (heat, cold, NaCl PEG) hormonal (BL, GA, IAA, SA MeJA) treatments, biotic tolerance. Conclusions are might be involve different developmental stages stress response. Some key (e.g. GhGGPP4, GhGGPP9, GhGGPP15 ) suggested further study provided valuable source cotton breeding improve quality resistant stresses.
