ABSTRACT
The purpose of this prospective cohort study was to clarify the safety and efficacy total hip arthroplasty via direct anterior approach in supine position with a novel mobile traction table. first experience consecutive surgeries by single surgeon using table is described two-year follow-up period. Of 121 patients, 100 patients without previous surgeries, severe deformity, or cemented implants were divided into two groups comprising 50 second patients. implant survival rate 99% at follow-up. Revision surgery required for periprosthetic femoral fracture one patient. complication possibly related 5% (5 patients): three dislocations, fracture, intraoperative perforation caused rasping. tended decrease group compared (4% versus 6%). Mean surgical time (72.0 minutes 82.5 min, p = 0.027), allogeneic blood transfusion (2% 24%, 0.001), cup alignment safe zone (100% 88%, 0.027) significantly improved group. showed positive learning curve time, transfusion, zone.
