ABSTRACT
Porphyromonas gingivalis (Pg) is one of the keystone pathogens involved in periodontitis. The present study aimed to observe relationship among different infection forms Pg, systemic inflammation, and acute myocardial infarction (AMI).A total 382 patients diagnosed with AMI 78 without coronary heart disease (CHD) were included study. DNA from exfoliated oral cells, circulating cell-free (cfDNA), genomic (gDNA) blood samples extracted. qPCR method was employed detect Pg infection. Clinical characteristics, inflammatory parameters, severity artery lesions analyzed compared. Both colonization distant invasion correlated positively inflammation. Multivariate logistic regression analysis suggested that positivity gDNA risk [Model 1 (odds ratio (OR) = 1.917, 95% confidence interval (CI) 1.108-3.315), Model 2 (OR 1.863, CI 1.064-3.262), 3 1.853, 1.042-3.295); p < 0.05]. cfDNA related (cfDNA-positive cases, adjusted OR 1.577, 0.05; gDNA-positive 1.976, 0.01).The factors AMI. They also affected CHD, indicating periodontitis periodontal CHD. presence likely able drive suggesting there an between
