ABSTRACT
An important aspect of end-of-life care is the place death. A majority cancer patients prefer home death to hospital At same time, actual location often against patient's last-known wish. The aim this study was analyze whether socioeconomic factors influence if Swedish palliative die at or a hospital. There no previous on encompassing several years in patients.Data collected from Register Palliative Care for diagnosed with brain tumor, lung, colorectal, prostate breast recorded between 2011 and 2014. data linked Cancer Register, Cause Death Longitudinal Integration Database health-insurance labor-market studies. total 8990 were included.We found that marital status factor seemed affect Lack partner, compared being married, associated higher likelihood dying hospital.Our findings are line similar earlier studies only 1 year based other countries. Whether inequalities least partly explain differences remains be investigated. Patients Sweden, who do not have life may option due lack informal support.
