ABSTRACT
Voluntary stopping of eating and drinking as an option to end life prematurely is gaining international attention, health care professionals are increasingly confronted with the wish die through voluntary by individuals. While date, there no guidelines in Switzerland orient professional support, it interest how other people involved react situation. The aim this qualitative study was explore accompany individuals during analyze decision-making process.Charmaz's grounded theory constructivist methodology uses for systematic, theory-driven data analysis underpinned a pragmatic philosophical perspective. Data were collected autumn 2016 part regional palliative conference on drinking. All participants expert meeting (N = 50, including nurses, counsellors, ethicists, medical doctors, politicians, volunteers, relatives) invited focus group interviews, which N 47 participated. We conducted five each lasting one hour.The results showed that accompaniment those willing either discussed cleared another or unspoken silently accompanied.The demands more knowledge must be heeded, also need systematic instructions proceed case support what needs considered.
