Evaluation of Tai Chi Yunshou exercises on community-based stroke patients with balance dysfunction: a study protocol of a cluster randomized controlled trial

ABSTRACT
Balance dysfunction after stroke limits patients' general function and participation in daily life. Previous researches have suggested that Tai Chi exercise could offer a positive improvement older individuals' balance reduce the risk of falls. But convincing evidence for effectiveness enhancing with is still inadequate. Considering difficulties patients to complete whole exercise, current trial evaluates benefit Yunshou through cluster randomization, parallel-controlled design. A single-blind, cluster-randomized, will be conducted. total 10 community health centers (5 per arm) selected randomly allocated into group or rehabilitation training group. Each asked enroll 25 eligible trial. 60 minutes each session, 1 session day, 5 times week round 12 weeks. Primary secondary outcomes measured at baseline 4-weeks, 8-weeks, 12-weeks, 6-week follow-up, 12-week follow-up randomization. Safety economic evaluation also assessed. This protocol aims evaluate stroke. If outcome positive, this project provide an appropriate technology community-based patients. Chinese Clinical Trial Registry: ChiCTR-TRC-13003641.
