A novel strategy combining Mini-CEX and OSCE to assess standardized training of professional postgraduates in department of prosthodontics

ABSTRACT
Mini clinical evaluation exercise (mini-CEX) and objective structured examination (OSCE) are widely acknowledged as effective measures of resident standardization training (RST) in European American countries. However, China primary mini-CEX OSCE forms mainly limited undergraduate examination. Little knowledge is available regarding the validity right way /OSCE system advanced dental education so far. This study aimed to explore whether combination represents a global-dimension assessment for postgraduate competence RST.Postgraduates who received RST from June 2017 2019 were selected evaluated by modified mini-CEX/OSCE scales. Each student evaluations at least twice initial final stages (tested every 4 months). A questionnaire was conducted investigate satisfaction with arrangement RST.Mini-CEX/OSCE test results indicated that postgraduates have significantly improved their comprehensive projects department prosthodontics (P < 0.05). Compared other master Stomatology students, taking up master's degree made more progresses through period 1 year four sessions face-to-face feedback tutoring Survey revealed high level on practice evaluation.Modified combined an reliable tool ability professional graduates can fully highlight respective advantages improvement students' competency, especially after several rounds assessments.
