ABSTRACT
Abstract Background Patient safety is paramount for all healthcare agencies. Health professionals' lack of patient competencies threaten patients’ lives, and increase patients, families, hospitals, social burdens. The new nurse-related issues have particularly attracted much attention. aim this study was to examine the impacts practice environment job stress on nurses' attitudes by employing demands–resources model. Methods used a cross-sectional structural equation modeling (SEM). A convenience sample 370 nurses recruited from seven tertiary hospitals in Anhui province, China, April 2022 August 2022. Data were collected using self-report questionnaires including Chinese version Nurse Job Stressors Scale, Practice Environment Safety Attitudes Questionnaire. Results New scores moderate (126.99 ± 14.39). had significant direct effect (β = -0.337, t 6.120), 0.604, 13.766), an indirect through 0.066, 3.690), accounted 9.9% total effect. This model able explain 48.3% with prediction accuracy. Conclusions emphasizes importance improving toward safety.
