Training and well-equipped facility increases the odds of skills of health professionals on helping babies breathe in public hospitals of Southern Ethiopia: cross-sectional study

ABSTRACT
Health professionals equipped with the adequate skills of helping baby breath remain backbone in health system improving neonatal outcomes. However, there is a great controversy between studies to show proximate factors care providers babies breathe. In Ethiopia, paucity evidence on current status provider's breathe despite improvement services. Therefore, this study intends fill those gaps assessing and its associated among public hospitals Southern Ethiopia.A facility-based cross-sectional was conducted 441 from March 10 30, 2019. A simple random sampling method used select participants. The data were collected through pre-tested interviewer-administered questionnaire observational checklist. binary logistic regression model identify significant for by using SPSS version 25. P-value < 0.05 declare statistical significance.Overall, 71.1% (95%CI: 66.2, 75.4%) had good Age group 25 34 (AOR = 2.24; 95%CI: 1.04, 4.81), training 2.69; 1.49, 4.87), well-equipped facility 2.15; 1.09, 4.25), knowledge 2.21; 1.25, 3.89) significantly skill breathe.Even though number breathe, yet need further improve provider Hence, facilities should be materials facilitate frequent provider.
