ABSTRACT
Effective vaccines against porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV), especially highly pathogenic (HP) PRRSV are still missing. The objective of this study was to evaluate the protective efficacy an experimental live attenuated 2 vaccine, composed two strains, heterologous challenge with a Vietnamese HP field strain. For reason, 20 negative piglets were divided into groups. pigs group 1 vaccinated remained unvaccinated. All received intranasal on day 0 (42 days after vaccination). Blood samples taken 7 21 vaccination several challenge. On 28 challenge, all euthanized pathologically examined. On vaccination, viraemia seen in which detectable seven up 42 vaccination. 3 from both groups positive RT-qPCR. From onwards, viral load number lower than 2. seroconverted antibodies detected serum 14 onwards. In 2, moderate symptoms occasional coughing following Pigs clinically unaffected. Interstitial pneumonia found four ten Histopathological findings more severe 2.It thus concluded that used vaccine provided protection clinical disease marked reduction histopathological challenged
