ABSTRACT
Parthenolide (PTL) is a natural molecule isolated from Tanacetum parthenium that exhibits excellent anti-inflammatory and antitumor activities. Pulmonary fibrosis (PF), especially idiopathic pulmonary (IPF), chronic lung disease lacks proven effective therapy. The present study evaluated the therapeutic effect of PTL on PF. Serum-starved primary fibroblasts HFL1 cells were treated with different doses PTL, cell viability migration rate measured. Western blot analysis dual-luciferase assay used to analyze epithelial–mesenchymal transition (EMT)-related transcription factors influenced by treatment in A549 epithelial cells. Mice bleomycin (BLM)-induced intragastric pathological changes using Hematoxylin-eosin (H&E) staining immunohistochemical analysis. Our results demonstrated reduced inhibited expression EMT-related In vivo studies attenuated BLM-induced improved body weight BLM-treated mice. We further PF primarily via inhibition NF-κB/Snail signaling pathway. These findings suggest inhibits EMT attenuates worthwhile candidate compound for
