ABSTRACT
In January 2020, SARS-CoV-2 virus was identified as a cause of an outbreak in China. The disease quickly spread worldwide, and the World Health Organization (WHO) declared pandemic March 2020.From first notifications disease, WHO's Emergency Programme implemented global COVID-19 surveillance system coordination with all WHO regional offices. aimed to monitor epidemic over countries across population groups, severity risk factors, impact control measures. data reported is combination case-based weekly aggregated data, focusing on minimum dataset for cases deaths including disaggregation by age, sex, occupation Care Worker, well number tested, newly admitted hospitalization. These disaggregations aim inequities distribution factors among groups.SARS-CoV-2 waves continue sweep world; 2022, 445 million 6 have been worldwide. Of these, 327 (74%) database, which 255 (57%) are disaggregated age sex. A public dashboard has made available visualize trends, distributions, sex ratios, along testing hospitalization rates. It includes feature download underlying dataset.This paper will describe flows, frontend dashboard, challenges experienced acquisition, curation compilation lessons learnt overcoming these. Two years after declared, continues still considered Public International Concern (PHEIC). While country offices demonstrated tremendous adaptability commitment process from this major event serve enhance capacity preparedness at every level, institutional empowerment that may lead greater sharing health evidence during PHEIC, focus equity.
