ABSTRACT
Immunological markers (CD4 count) are used in developing countries to decide on initiation of antiretroviral therapy and monitor HIV/AIDS disease progression. HIV is an incurable chronic illness, making quality life paramount. The direct relationship between CD4 count unclear. purpose this study determine the change measures a Ugandan cohort people living with HIV. We prospectively assessed among 1274 patients attending clinic within national referral hospital over period 6 months. Quality was measured using objective measure, Medical Outcomes Study health survey summarized as Physical Health Score Mental subjective Global Person Generated Index. Generalized estimating equations were analyze data. primary predictor variable count, outcome scores. controlled for sociodemographic characteristics, clinical factors behavioral factors. Twenty in-depth interviews conducted assess patient perception influencing life. Of enrolled 1159 had at baseline six months 586 (51 %) received therapy. There no association found scores univariate multivariate analysis participants whether or not Participants perceived happiness well-being, influenced by economic status, psychosocial factors, status. Clinicians policy makers cannot rely immunological predict era initiating relatively healthy patients. In addition monitoring markers, socioeconomic should be underscored management
