ABSTRACT
World population is growing at about 80 million people each year. Ethiopia the 12th most populous country in world. Existing literatures showed that role of proximate determinants inhibiting total fertility has not yet been determined from DHS data country. This study may provide evidence based information regarding observed changes fertility. The objective this was assessing and selected socio-economic variables influencing Ethiopia. EDHS 2011 2016 were used our study. A 16,515 eligible women included 15,683 surveys made up sample for roles four declining have determined. background analysis include: region residence, educational status, wealth index place residence. Bongaart model to explain differentials during two survey years. In 2011, marriage inhibited by 37.8%, however it 34.4%. contraceptive use reduced 28.5% while 30.7%. postpartum infecundity decreased 34.7% 34.5% 2016. Foetal wastage 9.2% both rate 4.14 whereas projected 2020 will be 3.2 children per woman. Among fertility, contribution highest 2011. On other hand, infecundability increased 30.7% foetal contributed least Therefore, strategies designed promote breast feeding practices among reproductive women.
