ABSTRACT
Abstract Background This study aimed to investigate the contralateral breast cancer (CBC) recurrence rate in Korean patients according their BRCA1/2 germline mutation status, focusing particularly on CBC risk negative ( BRCAx ) patients. Methods We conducted a retrospective 13,107 primary The were divided into high-risk and low-risk groups for hereditary based National Health Insurance Service’s eligibility criteria testing. group was further categorized BRCA , not tested . evaluated overall survival cumulative of developing these Results Among 4494 patients, 973 (21.7%) underwent genetic testing mutation, revealing mutations 158 (16.2%). observed significant differences across all four groups, with high-risk, not-tested demonstrating notably worse p < 0.001). However, when adjusted other prognostic factors, there no hazard ratio death between groups. also varied among Patients showed 7.3-fold increased compared (95% CI 4.11–13.0, Interestingly, demonstrated significantly higher (HR 2.77, 95% 1.76–4.35, importance persisted after adjusting age subtype, but became insignificant family history adjusted. Conclusion Breast who are at high wild-type 1/2 genes have More careful surveillance follow-up can be offered especially they cancer.
