ABSTRACT
Simultaneous saccharification and fermentation (SSF) is a promising process for bioconversion of lignocellulosic biomass. High glucan loading hydrolysis an efficient approach to reduce the capital costs bio-based products production. The SSF steam-exploded corn stover (SECS) ethanol production at high temperature was investigated in this study. Glucan conversion biomass pretreated by steam explosion maintained approximately 71 79% enzyme 30 filter paper units (FPU)/g glucan, 74 82% 60 FPU/g with varying from 3 12%. decreased obviously beyond 15%. results indicated that mixture most enzymatic SECS 12% loading. optimal conditions using novel Saccharomyces cerevisiae were inoculation optical density (OD)600 = 4.0, initial pH 4.8, 50% nutrients added, 36 hours pre-hydrolysis time, 39°C, (20% solid loading). With addition 2% Tween 20, conversion, yield, final concentration reached 78.6%, 77.2%, 59.8 g/L, respectively, under conditions. suggested degradation products' inhibitory effect on also not obvious Additionally, increased 13.6% 18.7%, compared separate (SHF). Our research (6 loading) (39°C) significantly improved performance thermal- ethanol-tolerant strain S. due removal products, sugar feedback, solid's effects. Furthermore, surfactant yield SECS.
