ABSTRACT
Abstract The service life prediction of reinforced concrete (RC) structures in marine environment is essential structural repair and health monitoring. In this paper, a numerical model for predicting the first developed which considering time-varying boundary chloride concentration, critical concentration density corrosion current. Based on model, effects water–cement ratio, reinforcement diameter, cover thickness ion deterioration duration RC are investigated. key factors affecting determined. More importantly, based regression analysis, new simplified empirical also developed. It provides fast assessment tool practical engineers. Both validated suitable engineering applications. results show that with increase structure decreases exponentially. And cover, life, duration, safety reserve linearly. However, influence diameter reinforcing bar can be ignored.
