ABSTRACT
Increasing evidence is demonstrating that a patient's unique genetic profile can be used to detect the disease's onset, prevent its progression, and optimize treatment. This led increased global efforts implement personalized medicine (PM) pharmacogenomics (PG) in clinical practice. Here we investigated perceptions of students from different universities Bosnia Herzegovina (BH) towards PG/PM as well related ethical, legal, social implications (ELSI). descriptive, cross-sectional study based on survey 559 Faculties Medicine, Pharmacy, Health Studies, Genetics, Bioengineering other programs. Our results showed 50% heard about personal genome testing companies 69% consider having test done. A majority (57%) agreed PM represents promising healthcare model, 40% their program designed for understanding PG/PM. latter opinion seems particularly influenced by field (7.23, CI 1.99-26.2, p = 0.003). Students with this are also more willing continue postgraduate education (OR 4.68, 2.59-8.47, < 0.001). Furthermore, 45% aware ethical aspects testing, most them (46%) being concerned privacy. Our indicate positive attitude biomedical medicine. Importantly, our emphasize key importance pharmacogenomic efficient translation precision into
