The suicide prevention effect of lithium: more than 20 years of evidence—a narrative review

ABSTRACT
The management and treatment of patients with suicidal behavior is one the most challenging tasks for health-care professionals. Patients affective disorders are at high risk behavior, therefore, should be a target prevention. Numerous international studies lithium use have documented anti-suicidal effects since 1970s. Despite unambiguous evidence lithium's recommendations in national guidelines its acute maintenance therapy disorders, still underrepresented. following article provides comprehensive review investigating effect disorders.
