ABSTRACT
Abstract Background There is currently no information on how different mandibular segments are affected by juvenile idiopathic arthritis. The aim of this paper to assess volumetric differences in subjects with unilateral and bilateral JIA compare them non-JIA control volumes. Materials methods Forty TMJ involvement 48 were selected for the case group 45 known rheumatic comorbidities group. mandible each subject was divided according a validated method into paired volumes (hemimandible, condyle, ramus hemibody). Results ANOVA test revealed statistically significant difference all groups condylar volumes, pairwise comparison evidenced higher volume (1444.47 mm 3 ; 5715.44 ) than side (929.46 4776.31 (1068.54 ). Moreover, there also unaffected (1419.39 5566.24 Conclusions patients showed lower hemimandible, condyle ramus. largest total observed group, followed and, lastly,
