ABSTRACT
Abstract In order to better understand the crustal shortening and orogenic uplift in northeastern margin of Tibetan Plateau, as well geothermal resource effects formed during this process, we used ModEM software perform 3D MT imaging on broadband magnetotelluric survey points deployed at 710 Gonghe Basin its surrounding areas. The resistivity model suggests that exhibits a low–high–low overall electrical structure, with high conductivity widely distributed middle lower crust. also reveals significant discontinuity between low blocks various depths upper These discontinuities are align faults observed surface related strong fluctuations, which connected conductors Using empirical formulas for high-temperature high-pressure testing granite, it is estimated melting volume these ranges from 3 43%, demonstrating good "plasticity". can act detachment layers deformation expansion Plateau towards northeast edge continuously conduct heat energy upwards, creating thermal background Basin.
