ABSTRACT
Numerous studies have shown that healthcare professionals are exposed to psychological distress. However, since most of these assessed distress using self-reporting questionnaires, the magnitude problem is largely unknown. We evaluated risks mood disorders, anxiety sleep and any psychiatric disorders in workers industry Korea National Health Insurance (NHI) claims data from 2014, which based on actual diagnoses instead self-evaluation.We used 2014 NHI classified employees as industry, companies database were registered with hospitals, clinics, public healthcare, other medical services. To estimate standardized prevalence selected mental health we calculated diseases each age group sex distribution population. compare risk among those industries, considered age, sex, income quartile characteristics conducted propensity scored matching.In matching study, had higher odds ratios for (1.13, 95% CI: 1.11-1.15), (1.15, 1.13-1.17), (2.21, 2.18-2.24), (1.44, 1.43-1.46) than reference did. Among females males, but compared group, male females.The all was Korean workers. The strikingly high could be related frequent night-shifts professions. problems alarming requires prompt action protect "protectors."
