ABSTRACT
Abstract Background Spontaneous regression (SR) is a rare phenomenon in which cancer disappears or remits without treatment. We report case of breast that showed spontaneous tumor the surgical specimen after core needle biopsy. Case presentation A 59-year-old woman came to our hospital complaining painful lump right breast. In upper-outer quadrant breast, with an unclear boundary, 30 mm diameter, was palpable. pathological findings from biopsy, diagnosed as solid-type invasive ductal carcinoma. Partial coagulation necrosis generated estrogen receptor-negative, HER2-negative, and AE1/AE3-positive carcinoma infiltration lymphocytes. Surgery for then performed. Histological examination revealed lymphocyte infiltration, necrosis, fibrous tissue hemosiderin. The formed solid nest, 3 suggesting possibility SR. Conclusions Immune responses, infection, hormones, stress, ischemia have been reported mechanisms this strongly suggest SR associated anti-tumor immune responses.
