Least-squares reverse time migration of multiples in viscoacoustic media

ABSTRACT
The migration of multiples can provide complementary information about the subsurface, but crosstalk artifacts caused by interference between different-order reduce its reliability. To mitigate artifacts, least-squares reverse time (LSRTM) is suggested some researchers. Multiples are more affected attenuation than primaries because longer travel path. avoid incorrect waveform matching during inversion, we propose to include viscosity in LSRTM implementation. A method introduced based on a viscoacoustic wave equation, which derived from generalized standard linear solid model. merit proposed that it not only compensates for amplitude loss and phase change, cannot be achieved traditional RTM multiples, also provides subsurface with fewer using compared primaries. Tests sensitivity errors velocity model, Q separated reveal accurate models input vital image quality. Numerical tests synthetic real data demonstrate advantages our approach improving quality terms balancing signal-to-noise ratio.
