ABSTRACT
Summary In petroleum exploration, Rayleigh waves, the primary kind of surface are often removed as noise. While in engineering however, dispersion characteristics waves have been used to invert near parameters since 1960s. And widely-used multichannel analysis wave (MASW) method is a typical approach estimate S-wave velocity and quality factor by extracting curves. Two horizontally-layered media models established this paper order study applicability MASW exploration. High precision Rayleigh-wave seismic records obtained, at first, with 2D full-wave field numerical stimulation high-order staggered-grid finite difference method. then data transformed from time-space domain velocity-frequency phase shift Dispersion curves 3 modes picked. Finally, well estimated multi-modes simultaneous inversion using damped least-squares based on singular value decomposition (SVD). It shown that also applicable feasible exploration when lateral heterogeneity sedimentary formation not severe.
