ABSTRACT
For the recent national requirements of marine natural resources, Ministry Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) started hydrothermal deposit survey tool development program. 'Zipangu in Ocean program' was Strategic Innovation Promotion Program (SIP) managed by cabinet office Japan government for science technological resource around Japan. We planned a multi-purpose electromagnetic instrument with controlled source unit various observation styles. Our transmitter used Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor (IGBT) as current transmitting control switching device. Receiver can record 5 or 8 ch electric field 24 bit A/D convertor. Moreover, both units equip an atomic clock, 1 kHz sampling rate. Using these underlying circuits, we developed dedicated towed body larger transmission small-sized that installed circuit small diameter pressure case medium sized cruising AUV. evaluation, our instruments on using vehicles, conducted observations mid-Okinawa Trough area, southern As results deep-tow at Izena hole, could clearly detect low resistivity area self-potential anomaly related to distribution ore deposit.
