ABSTRACT
PURPOSE To determine the response rate to 2-chlorodeoxyadenosine (2-CdA; cladribine) in patients with advanced indolent non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL) who fail respond or progress after a standard chemotherapy drugs. PATIENTS AND METHODS Twenty-one were treated at least one cycle of 2-CdA 0.1 mg/kg/d by continuous infusion for 5 7 days. RESULTS The overall (complete [CR] and partial [PR]) was nine 21 (43%; 95% confidence interval, 22% 64%). Unmaintained durable responses (longest follow-up, 29+ months) have been observed. treatment well tolerated all patients. major toxicity related myelosuppression (predominantly neutropenia) immunosuppression infection. CONCLUSION purine analog is an active salvage therapy pretreated NHL, deserves further assessment untreated combination other agents.
