ABSTRACT
e20086 Background: VEGF is one of the parameters that has been studied in differential diagnosis malign fluids. This study aimed to evaluate applicability serum, fluid level and serum ratio MPM. Methods: The patients with pleural effusion over age 18, between period 2011 2015 were included study. They separated into three groups: group 1: mesothelioma patients, 2: other malignancies 3: benign etiologies. Group 1 2 accepted as group. For fluid/serum In all groups, fluid, levels studied. Results: 20 cases mesothelioma, 44 etiologies this No statistically significant difference found according for (group 437±324 pg/ml, 354±223 373±217 p:0.836), while showed (group1: 3359±700 2175±435 1092±435 p:0.041). Ratio no statistical 2) 3) groups. (8.83±1.29 vs. 4.57±1.07, p:0.059), but (12.11±1.68 p:0.044). Conclusions: can be an applicable parameter fluids, especially mesothelioma. Further studies need done support a promising However these should others using differantial
