ABSTRACT
7540 Background: Occupational pesticide exposure (OPE) is associated with the risk of developing lymphoid malignancies, but less information available on large cohorts about occurrence acute myeloid leukemia (AML). To answer this question, we performed a meta-analysis including relevant adult case-control studies which reported OPE. Methods: Following PRISMA and MOOSE guidelines, two investigators systematic search in PubMed Cochrane databases for evaluating association between OPE AML 1946 August 28, 2018. In order to identify maximum number studies, keywords related demographical, pesticides chemicals data exposures were used. Studies reporting diagnosis based only death certificates, controls from cancer pediatric cases (<15 years-old) not included. Statistical analyses R software ‘mefafor’ package. Results: Fifteen included 4,068 patients 250,975 control subjects Using random effects model, overall analysis showed significant adverse OR=1.49 (95%CI: 1.10-2.01), heterogeneity ( I² =0.73, p<0.001). The robustness was checked after sequential exclusion one study at time did influence OR estimate. A publication bias underestimating suggested by an asymmetrical funnel plot. trim-and-fill method, hypothetical missing added adjust (OR=1.76 [95%CI: 1.30-2.38]. stratified that Asian populations (OR=1.74; 95%CI: 1.32-2.30) upon insecticides (OR=1.45; 1.16-1.81), yet partly influenced other factors, since most unadjusted results (n=8, 53%). Data biological characteristics unavailable stratify according molecular or cytogenetic characteristics. Conclusions: From new extensive review analysis, it clearly appears should be considered as occupational illness demonstrated Further will have focus individual cocktails determine pathogenesis mechanisms involved leukemogenesis, improve protection.
