ABSTRACT
e18772 Background: Extranodal Natural Killer/T-cell Lymphoma Nasal Type (ENKTL-NT) in an uncommon malignancy with rising incidence the United States (US) despite previously being described only Asia and Latin America (J Oral Maxillofac Pathol PMC3125667 Crit Rev Oncol Hematol PMID33493634). Although primarily occupying nasal cavity, other locations may be affected, which makes its presentation ambiguous. Diagnosis is important as omitting radiation has been associated detrimental survival Pract PMID31600462). This first national population-based analysis evaluating ethnic differences for Hispanics (HI) diagnosed ENKTL-NT. Methods: Data were analyzed on ENKTL-NT patients US reported to Surveillance, Epidemiology, End Results (SEER) database between 2000-2018. Demographic, clinical patterns analyzed. Kaplan-Meier Cox regression analyses used when appropriate. Multivariate propensity score matching performed adjustment age, stage B-symptoms. Results: 1,205 (HI=409, Non HI (NH)=796) Male sex predominated both. at younger median 43 years (y) vs 59y NH [p <0.001]. Most of whites 98% 58%; however, races noted. 2010-2014. For both, presence B symptoms was predominantly unknown. At diagnosis I mainly while unknown most likely noted = 0.013]. less than receive part their treatment, 47% 57% respectively 0.003]. Median 1.7y 1.2y NH; probability 2, 5 10y corresponded 0.467, 0.413 0.355, it 0.444, 0.352 0.292, respectively. OS had no statistically significant difference 0.06]. On multivariate analysis, those who older 80y 60-80y, worse compared 60y (HR 2.3 - 95% CI: 1.7 – 3 1.2 1 1.5). Regarding stage, III/IV early I/II 2.4 -95% 3.2 HR 3.4 2.7 4.30). Conclusions: study identified statistical Interestingly, therapy mainstay treatment key determinant survival. The fact that there underrepresent improved from they are not optimally treated still living longer NH. Additional research biological variables should carried out better understand this oncological outcome potentially offer targeted treatments minority.
