Fluctuation effects on wetting films

We provide a quantitative experimental determination of the fluctuation repulsion that stabilizes wetting films in systems for which interfacial tension one two interfaces bounding film is low. This achieved by studying different alkanes on water, presence surfactant. The results agree well with theoretical calculation membrane under vanishing surface tension.
