ABSTRACT
Information on the correlation of normative reproductive hormone levels with physical development (Tanner stages) during puberty and influences genes environment variation in these hormones Tanner stages is limited. One hundred twelve healthy 9-year-old twin pairs (n = 224) took part a longitudinal study, which 89 participated again at age 12 years 178).Morning urinary LH, FSH, estradiol, salivary testosterone levels, determined by competitive immunoassays, were measured. through examination.Over 3-year interval, all showed 2- to 9-fold increase. LH FSH 9 predicted sex-specific both boys girls. Most associations between explained genetic influences. correlated years. Moderate high heritability estimates found for ages sexes. In girls shift from environmental (age years) was estradiol pubic hair development, breast opposite direction seen.During (and boys) predict secondary sexual characteristics 3 later. These correlations are largely due that involved early pubertal subsequent development.
