ABSTRACT
We describe the changes in calcium homeostasis seen a hypoparathyroid woman during third trimester and with lactation following her second pregnancy. During need for supplemental calcitriol abated, fact she was transiently hypercalcemic hypophosphatemic. This change associated rise of serum parathyroid hormone-related peptide (PTHrP) released systemically lactation. is first documentation time course PTHrP levels from late throughout woman. In this context may have sufficient biological activity to compensate hormone deficiency.
