ABSTRACT
The peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors (PPARs) α and γ are nuclear that play important roles in inflammatory diseases like ulcerative colitis arthritis. In this study, we examined the possible role of PPARs macrophage attraction into peritoneal cavity patients with endometriosis. We identified PPAR-α -γ messenger RNA by RT-PCR protein immunoblotting lysates macrophages monocytic U937 cells. Using immunocytochemistry, localized within nuclei both cell types. Monocyte chemotactic activity fluid from endometriosis was quantified Boyden chambers. Migration cells increased WY 14643 reduced rosiglitazone. Peritoneal activated transiently transfected a PPAR-α/GAL4 luciferase reporter. By contrast, did not cause significant activation PPAR-γ/GAL4 constructs. PPAR response element reporter showed disease stage-dependent up-regulation when treated Treatment healthy controls down-regulated transactivation. conclude contains activators stimulate chemotaxis. Inhibitors or PPAR-γ could be developed for treatment inflammation associated
