ABSTRACT
Hypersomnia occurs frequently in patients with myotonic dystrophy (MyD). We performed a quantitative immunohistochemical study of serotonin (5—HT) containing neurons linked to hypersomnia the dorsal raphe nucleus (DRN) and superior central (SCN) 8 MyD, 5 whom showed hypersomnia, 12 age-matched controls. The densities 5—HT DRN SCN were significantly lower MyD than without These data suggest that loss is associated presence MyD.
