ABSTRACT
To delineate the features of regional cerebral metabolic rate glucose (CMRglc) in dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB).We compared absolute CMRglc 12 patients a clinical diagnosis DLB, Alzheimer's disease (AD), and normal volunteers (NC), using 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) PET. The three groups were matched for age sex, there no differences duration or severity cognitive disturbances between DLB AD groups.CMRglc was significantly lower than that NC most parts brain, except sensorimotor cortices, basal ganglia, thalamus, pons. Between groups, significant medial lateral occipital lobes. In AD, reduction patterns similar, though global larger could differentiate from AD. relative (normalized to CMRglc) useful measure differential sensitivity specificity 92% when minimal value normalized group as cut-off point. These different reductions substantiate pathologic, neurochemical,
