ABSTRACT
OBJECTIVE The aim of this study was to present the clinical and radiological characteristics, surgical management, outcome in a large series patients with aneurysms distal anterior cerebral artery (DACA) managed microsurgical era. METHODS records 1109 circulation at authors' institution between 1970 1998 were reviewed. RESULTS Fifty-nine (5.3%) identified 67 DACA aneurysms. Seventy-three percent women. mean age all 47 years. Multiple 51% patients, most commonly on middle artery. Thirty-six had ruptured 23 unruptured In those aneurysms, admission grade Grade I 10 (27.8%), II three (8.3%), III IV seven (19.4%), V six (16.7%). Frontal lobe hematomas occurred 28% carried poor prognosis. 11 incidental 12 after subarachnoid hemorrhage from another aneurysm. diameter mm 5.8 Fifty-eight underwent surgery one patient treated endovascular coiling. Six died. Seventy survivors favorable outcome. CONCLUSION possess number characteristics that distinguish them more common intracranial With modern neurosurgical techniques, an acceptable operative morbidity mortality can be achieved.
