ABSTRACT
COUP-TFII, an orphan member of the steroid receptor superfamily, has been implicated in mesenchymal-epithelial interaction during organogenesis. The generation a lacZ knock-in allele COUP-TFII locus mice allows us to use X-gal staining follow expression developing stomach. We found is expressed mesenchyme and epithelium Conditional ablation floxed by Nkx3-2Cre recombinase gastric results dysmorphogenesis stomach manifested major patterning defects posteriorization radial patterning. epithelial outgrowth, the expansion circular smooth muscle layer enteric neurons as well resemble phenotypes exhibited inhibition hedgehog signaling pathways. Using organ cultures cyclopamine treatment, we showed downregulation level stomach, suggesting target Our are consistent with functional link between proteins factors that vital for epithelial-mesenchymal interactions.
